Parking spaces to rent in Jersey

2 parking spaces are advertised to rent on their own, £100 pcm to £190 pcm a month. Each links to the agent’s own listing, and we hold every field they published on it.

Parking spaces for sale in Jersey

3 parking spaces are for sale on their own, £40,000 to £105,000. A space in a development is bought the way a flat in one is — share transfer or leasehold rather than freehold — so the tenure on each card is worth reading before you make an offer.

How we decide a listing is a parking space

By what the record states, never by the word appearing in it. 97 Jersey listings have “parking” or “garage” in the title and 91 of them are houses and flats advertising an amenity, so a keyword search for a parking space returns most of the island’s mid-market instead.

  1. The agent typed it as a parking space

One agency on the island fills in that field. It is the strongest evidence there is and it finds one listing in six on its own, which is why the two tests below exist.

  2. Or the advert states no bedrooms, no bathrooms and no receptions

A listing with none of the three is not a dwelling by its own agency’s account. That narrows the whole catalogue to fifteen records, and every one of them was read by hand.

  3. And its title or its opening sentence offers a space or a garage

The parking words have to be the whole of a title clause, or to appear in the first sentence of the advert. “Garage/Storage, Les Quennevais Park” passes; “2 Bedroom Top Floor Apartment with Covered Parking” does not, although that listing states no rooms either. A description that mentions converting an existing garage six sentences in is a house.

Each card above says which of the three applies to it. We never write a description of a property — the words on every listing are the agent’s own, and where a field is missing the page says it is missing rather than filling it in.

Looking for a home that comes with parking?

That is the opposite question and it has far more behind it: 1115 homes for sale and 111 to rent mention parking, and 555 for sale mention a garage. Those are matched from the agent’s own description, so they narrow the search rather than partitioning it — the listings they leave out are not listings without parking.

Which Jersey agents advertise parking spaces

These 4 of the 39 agencies we index have a space or a garage on the market on their own today. Most spaces never reach a website at all, so it is worth asking an agent directly as well.

Jersey parking space questions

How much does a parking space cost in Jersey?
Across the 39 agencies we index, parking spaces advertised on their own currently run from £100 pcm to £190 pcm a month to rent and from £40,000 to £105,000 to buy. That is what is on the market this week rather than a valuation — the island advertises only a handful of spaces at a time, so a single listing moves the range.
Can you rent a parking space in Jersey without renting a flat?
Yes. Spaces and garages are let on their own, most of them in and around St Helier, usually on a monthly rolling basis. They are advertised on agency websites alongside homes rather than on a page of their own, which is why they are hard to find — this page is every one the agencies we index are currently advertising.
Can a parking space be bought freehold in Jersey?
Not usually. A parking space in a development is bought under the same instruments as a flat in one — share transfer or leasehold — because what is being sold is a share in, or a lease over, the ground the space sits on. Both appear among the spaces for sale below. Tenure decides what a lender will do, so it is worth confirming with the agent before making an offer.
Do you need residential qualifications to rent a parking space?
Jersey’s Control of Housing and Work Law governs who may occupy a home, and a parking space is not a dwelling. None of the agents advertising the spaces on this page states a housing category on them. Confirm the terms with the agent rather than assuming either way.
How does Homely decide a listing is a parking space and not a home?
By what the record itself states, never by the word “parking” appearing in it. A listing qualifies when the agent has typed it as a parking space, or when the advert states no bedrooms, no bathrooms and no receptions — so it is not a dwelling by the agency’s own account — and its title or its opening sentence offers a parking space or garage. 97 Jersey listings have “parking” or “garage” in the title and 91 of them are houses and flats advertising an amenity, so a keyword search returns the wrong thing entirely.

Nothing here is advice on a tenancy or a purchase, and terms should be confirmed with the agent before you commit. Whether a housing category applies to a lease of a space is a question for them; the Jersey housing qualification rules explain what those categories mean for a home.
